i really enjoy glamour magic. i do not need but i like the practice and art of makeup and skin care practices. i don’t wear makeup everyday but it feels like such loving adornment when i do—i see myself from eagle eye view taking care to acknowledge and see fully all the lines and curves of my face. it’s simultaneously unnecessary/trite, meaningful/tender/cute. to tend to the body in small practices of reverence and joy. i think of how humans for centuries have utilized jewels, precious metals, garments, talismans and various earth pigments touched to the face here and there as an agent of enhancement, protection, or some other life honoring symbolism. it can be centering and enchants the journey of being in a body through the simple practice of awareness and tuning into what you like, and what feels good. i’ve been using minimal products (clean/non toxic is kind of an ambiguous green washed language..) for a while and this is what i have been using for some time thats emerged as worthwhile keepers. IMO some stuff is worth the splurge, others not. this is what makes sense to me at the moment. i focus on larger surface areas being the motivation for higher end/green beauty choices. here i used: -elf brow kit and eyebrow gel in light/neutral browns -maybelline mascara -dollar store brown eyeliner...Believe beauty, also love fatandthemoon eye kohl as liner or for brows using my own brushes for all (which is key for application of any product) -ereperezcosmetics concealer in chai -bareminerals rose radiance blush -Believe lip liner in almost rose (lol also dollar store...i rarely line my lips but sometimes it feels fun) revlon lipstick in rose velvet (yerp, not in the clean beauty crew but i have a sentimental relationship to these formulas from watching my Grandmother) also love -fatandthemoon lip paint in hecate and moonbeam highlighter drylandwilds chocolate flower lip tints real nice on 💋 and cheek putting a towel down in the sink is a great way to do your face when you have minimal counter space. anyway, that’s my silly little share for the day. what’s your favorite goops? happy to answer any Qs if you’ve got em. i’ve tried a lot o’ stuff.
