Exfoliating our faces with Masa & Olive Face Paste can be a meditation on our dependence and collaboration with plants. We recommend Light as a Featha for sensitive skin folks looking for an exfoliant.

Scoop out ½ teaspoon, mix with a little water and massage into the face lightly.. Rinse off with water and towel pat your face dry. Use a spoon to scoop out the scrub to minimize introduction of bacteria. Use once or twice a week for exfoliation and invigoration; your skin will be polished AND nourished.

Plant Profiles

FAQ
Currently using earth polish mixed with moon milk a couple times a week but the cold has my nose dry and a bit flakey-- will this do a better job exfoliating and moisturizing?
Masa & Olive Face Paste might be just what you are looking for since it combines both more exfoliating and skin softening properties that help flakey skin recover.

Morning! It’s me and agastache and lantana. These plants support pollinators. Agastache smells like sweet licorice and its drought tolerant similar to lantana (aka milkweed or butterfly bush). I’ve been feeling at odds with what I can personally do to create change and then I recalled what my permaculture teacher would encourage, support the pollinators. About 80% of food crops require pollinators and they’re struggling to survive. feeling excited about the handmade zerowaste makeup I've been gathering over the past year. Both eyeshadow colors I used triple as lip color and blush and come in biodegradable or reusable glass packaging. Its a little hard to see in the pic but here's what's on;
nudi.goods candy stripe is on my lids and mixed with oil on my lips. I also used their coral rust balm on my cheeks.
fatandthemoon clay idol is in my crease, all cream is my moisturizer, and beam is my highlight

face full o non-toxic makeup ✨ (and head full o dry shampoo, am i right) 🤘🏼 it’s no secret that there are harmful ingredients in many traditional beauty products - ingredients that can irritate skin, disrupt your hormones, even cause cancer. the UK bans over 1300 cosmetic ingredients, and the US bans literally only 11. eleven! isn’t that wild? I’m not here to shame or fearmonger bc neither are a good long-term motivator, and it’s just not my place - but i hope you feel empowered to at least look into it! what kindsa ingredients are in the products that sit on my skin all day? what ingredients are in the products i use on my kiddos, pets, face, body, hair, etc.?
anyways - i started switching my makeup over to non-toxic choices four-ish years ago? i was first overwhelmed at the idea of getting rid of what i was using and replacing it, bc $ - so i started switching up one thing at a time. as i used one product up, I’d replace it with a non-toxic version - it was slow going (took well over a year) but that’s just what worked for me! I was also shocked to find non-toxic makeup that like .... worked really well and wasn’t a lesser quality than my old favs. i just assumed that less-harmful ingredients = less-effective products, but i was wrong!! praise!!! anyways - there are a lotta good companies doing good things and using good clean ingredients in their makeup - find those companies + support em when you can!
here’s my current lineup:
+ young living savvy minerals foundation/concealer (my fav - perf lightweight foundation, perf moisturizing concealer) and bronzer
+ beautycounter setting powder (perf lightweight setting powder!)
+ pseudolabs faux frecks (i like to use the setting powder after freckles to set em!)
+ beautycarenaturals highlighter
+ honest liquid eyeliner (it’s like a marker aka perf for anyone who’s still not super great at applying eyeliner!)
+ thrivecausemetics mascara (the literal bestttt mascara ever) and brow gel
+ fatandthemoon lip stain!
