Big Seaweed Energy
Sachi started Rootless with a not-so-small mission: to change the global food system through seaweed. After more than a decade working in climate change, she discovered seaweed as both a solution and a teacher. It is a humble, ancient crop with the power to regenerate oceans, create jobs, and nourish our bodies in ways we have forgotten but deeply need.
What began as a kitchen experiment and a wild idea (how to get everyone to eat more seaweed) quickly became personal. As women began writing in to share how one small but mighty bite was transforming their energy, sleep, mood, and hormones, Sachi saw her own story reflected back. Eating seaweed daily helped her resolve hormonal issues that years of PCOS supplements and prescriptions could not, bringing steady, natural nourishment for her hormones, energy, and skin. It was healing from the root, not just masking symptoms.
Rootless goes beyond the human bod to address healing the earth bod. By sourcing from regenerative aquaculture farms, Sachi is proving that food can restore ecosystems, sequester carbon, and nourish coastal communities. Seaweed, as she reminds us, is the future of farming, food, and planetary health.
